The Canine First Aid course has been created to provide the learner with basic canine first aid knowledge and understanding. The emphasis throughout this course, in all situations, is to ensure the dog gets seen by a veterinary professional as soon as possible. Much of the content in this course highlights potentially life threatening and emergency situations, and therefore being able to assess the situation, act calmly and where appropriate, administer first aid treatment can in some cases make the difference between life and death. This course can also assist those who work in a front of house role in veterinary practice, giving the confidence to identify true emergencies and be able to competently triage over the phone.
Disclaimer:
This Canine First Aid course is provided for informational purposes only. It is designed to support veterinary receptionists in understanding basic first aid principles but does not qualify participants as certified animal first aiders. For any medical emergencies or treatment, a qualified veterinary professional should always be consulted.
