Brian Faulkner (Co-Founder)

BSc (Hons), BVM&S, CertGP(SAM), CertGP(BPS), MBA, MSc(Psych), FRCVS

Brian graduated from Edinburgh Vet School in 1995 and worked in mixed practice before studying for an MBA at Nottingham Business School in 2001. He has set up and developed 5 veterinary practices from start-ups during the last 20 years and currently leads and works as a clinician in his current practice www.aldeburghvets.co.uk. Brian completed a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology, as well as General Practice certificates in Business and Professional Studies and Small Animal Medicine. He was The UK’s Petplan Vet of the Year in 2008. He is Honorary Associate Professor in Veterinary Business at Nottingham University Vet School and in July 2020 he was awarded the title Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (FRCVS) in recognition of outstanding contributions to the veterinary profession. 

In 2017 Brian raised £120,000 for Brooke Animal Hospital by running 10 marathons in 10 consecutive days all across the UK and Ireland. In August 2020 Brian ran 31 marathons in 31 days from John O’Groats to Lands End to raise £10,000 for a charity called Street Vet which attends to the dogs of the homeless.

Kay Watson-Bray (Co-Founder)

After beginning her career in veterinary nursing, Kay moved into veterinary education, supporting veterinary professionals across the UK and Europe achieve postgraduate qualifications.  She has significant expertise in accreditation, awards and certification within the veterinary sector.  Kay is the co-founder of the British Association of Veterinary Receptionists and Colourful CPD.  She lives in Devon and enjoys walking on Dartmoor with her husband and six dogs.​

Sophie Lo Curto​​ (Operations Manager)

Sophie joined the BVRA team in April 2020. She has worked as a veterinary receptionist and customer care manager for almost 10 years in various small animal hospitals across Surrey. She thrives on establishing relationships with clients and ensures the customer experience in practice is of a high standard. Outside work you’ll find her bargain hunting and gazing at beautiful old buildings across the globe.

Lynsey Sadiwskyj (Business Support Manager)

Starting life in practice as a receptionist, then becoming an RVN, followed by 7 years as a Business Manager for Royal Canin and more recently going on to be PM of a busy practice, Lynsey has experienced many aspects of Veterinary practice and the industry.
Having been involved in training Receptionists, Care Assistants, Nurses and Vets, and additionally learning how to be a PM herself, she is passionate about the practice team and development of the individual talents and skills within it. She has a great understanding of the part that each role plays in practice to create the most satisfactory resolution and experience for clients and patients. She is currently studying her CertVBM as well as her CIPD Level 5 Diploma in HR.
When not working or studying she can be found walking her dogs in sunny Suffolk, camping, cooking or at a country music festival!
